Exposure trip for secondary students in Mokokchung district during 2022-2023
Mokokchung District:
Students of Longrimendang Ao Govt High School, Tzudikong and Government High School Mokokchung village under DMA Samagra Shikhsa, Mokokchung organized exposure trip within the state on 24th and 25th of January 2023.The team visited National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Extension Centre and Nagaland Gandhi Ashram at Chuchuyimlang, and Fazil Ali College under Mokokchung District. Administrative Block and various department of Nagaland University were also visited.

Phek District:
Government High School Akhegwo and Government High School Kamaleah under Phek district visited Phek Government College and Industrial Training Institute Phek during the two-day exposure trip to Higher Educational Institution conducted by Samagra Shiksha Under Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA).
Excursion trip to Jorhat for GHS/GHSS Students under Rastriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) during 2022-23
A two-day study trip to Jorhat for Secondary Students of Government Schools was conducted by Samagra Shiksha from 23rd-24th March 2023 with an aim to create curiosity, excitement and exploration among school children and promote enquiry-based learning outside the classroom. The team consisting of 33 Secondary students from Government Schools and 10 teachers from across the state along with 2 officials from State Mission Office visited CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST), Jorhat.The team also visited Majuli Island which is the biggest River Island in the world. Students got hands-on demonstration on some general principles of science at the Science Centre and Planetarium, Jorhat.
Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (Elementary):
An outlay of Rs. 51.31 lakh as per unit cost given below was estimated for Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) for various activities, such as Mentoring by Higher Education Institutions, Establishment of Science Clubs, Science corners, Teachers circles, Science Exhibition Science and Maths Olympiads for upper primary level.

With the focus of connecting school-based knowledge to life outside the school and to make learning of Science and Mathematics a joyful and meaningful activity and to bring focus on innovation and use of technology, Ministry of Human Resources Development introduced Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA).
Study Tour (Inside and Outside of the state) Elementary:
The State Mission Authority identified 92 students from across the State to visit the North Eastern Institute of Science and Technology at Jorhat in the month of March 2020. The fund for excursion trip has been released to District Mission Authority, Samagra Shiksha for implementation. However, the proposed trip was postponed on account of COVID-19 pandemic.
Capacity Building of Science and Math Teachers on use of Science and Math kits:
Elementary:
PAB 2019-20 approved a financial outlay of Rs 1.52812 lakh for procurement of 92 kits for 92 schools. Orders for procurement has been made from NCERT empanelled firm and the science kits have been distributed to the selected schools after session on demonstration of the use of kits.
Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (Secondary):
An amount of Rs. 88.90 lakh as per unit cost given below was estimated for Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA) for various activities, such as mentoring by higher education institutions, Setting-up of teacher circles, Setting-Up of, Science and Math Clubs, Science and Math Kits, Science exhibitions; quiz Competitions/Book Fair, Exposure Visits within and outside State, Vedic Maths and Maths Melas, Science and Maths kits, etc.

Study Tour (Inside and Outside of the state) Secondary:
In order to boost and expand the learning horizon of the students as well as teachers, Exposure Trip/s is one of the most rewarding activity and is a well-received intervention by the education community in the State. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati was identified as a centre to be visited for interaction and learning for the students. Students of Class were selected based on performance in the class IX promotion examination 2019.
Capacity Building of Science and Math Teachers on use of Science and Math kits:
Secondary:
PAB 2019-20 approved an amount of Rs. 5.54 lakh for procurement of 291 numbers Math Kits for the secondary schools in the State of Nagaland at the rate of Rs 1907 per kit. Maths kits have already been procured from an NCERT empanelled firm and have been delivered. Training of teachers on science and maths subject and science exhibitions, delivery of science kits for 383 Government Schools have been completed.
Rashtriya Avishkar Saptah (RAS):
Rashtriya Avishkar Saptah was observed in October 2019 with the theme ‘Water Conservation and Water Quality Assessment’. Seven schools (GHS/GHSS) from each district were selected to participate.
Book Fair:
The goal of book fair is to make books available and inculcate in the child the habit of reading books. Apart from the scholastic books, they are exposed to the numerous treasures of wisdom through this initiative. GOI approved Rs 50,000/- for each district prior to 2019-20 for conduct of book fair. However, due to the non-feasibility in conducting books fairs with the amount allocated, book fair could not be held. It is thus proposed that the amount per district be enhanced to 1.5 lakh.
