Singing and listening to music enhance aural distinction. It also helps in many other ways like, mastery of memorization, improve their hand-eye coordination, improve pattern-recognition skills, fine-tuned auditory skills, spatial development. This programme was implemented in 11 secondary schools. Considering the importance of music in boosting the learning process and to help the students to develop its ability to the fullest extent and was introduced in 35 Secondary School in addition to this existing 11 secondary schools where music as a subject was introduced.
Musical instruments, theory and practical books were provided to schools. Contract music teachers on honorarium basis were engaged to enable students to achieve this extra-curricular activity.
