PAB 2019-20 approved an amount of Rs. 219.07 lakh for class I- II Learning Enhancement Programme for 43814 children. A survey was conducted by Samagra Shiksha to assess the implementation status of Activity and Competency Learning (ACL) under LEP programme (Elementary) from 4th – 8th November 2019 by covering 60 schools in 6 districts.
The survey reports indicated that due to the benefits of the programme, children and teachers expressed the desire to continue with the programme as it creates joyful learning environment in the classrooms and children learn better. Students are more attentive in the class and improved attendance in the school.
Based on the findings and recommendations of the report, notification for continuation of the programme of ACL has been issued. Accordingly, a Committee has been constituted with members from SCERT, School Education Directorate and Samagra Shiksha for implementation of the programme
Activity Competency Learning (Elementary):
43814 elementary students were recommended by PAB for coverage and providing them with Activity Competency Learning kits
Learning Enhancement Programme/Remedial teaching (Secondary):
An amount of Rs. 10.90 lakh @ Rs 500 per child was estimated for providing LEP/Remedial teaching for covering 2179 students at secondary level. The main objective of LEP is to identify the learning gaps and equip students with core learning prerequisites appropriate to the particular grade.
In view of the poor performance of students from government schools in the HSLC examination of 2019 conducted by NBSE, three (3) months Remedial Teaching in Maths and Science was introduced for 240 GHS/ GHSS to cover 5324 students as per UDISE 2018-19.
- Three months remedial teaching for Maths and Science subject class 10 was conducted from December 2019 to February 2020.
- The conduct of remedial teaching classes was monitored by the EBRC Coordinators in the block level and officials from State Mission Office Samagra Shiksha.
- 315 Science and Maths teachers were engaged.
