Kala Utsav, an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development is to promote and preserve the various art forms in the field of Music (Vocal), Music (Instrumental), Dance and Painting for both male and female students.
The District Level competition was conducted from 14th and 15th October 2019. The State Level Kala Utsav was held on the 29th October 2019 in Kohima where the winners of the district level competed in the solo events.
Government High School, Changtongya and Government High School, Pholami won the Music (Vocal) in Male and Female category. T.M. Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima and Government Higher Secondary School, Pungro qualified for the Music (Instrumental) category.
Government High School, Pholami and Government High School, Zuheshe won the male and female category respectively in the dance competitions while Government Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto bagged the prizes for male in painting, female category was won by Government Higher Secondary School Tuli.
The 8 winners of the State level Kala Utsav participated in the National Level Kala Utsav at Bhopal from 2nd -5th January 2020. All the costumes and logistic supports to the schools were provided by the State Office, Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland.
