Integrated Teacher Training Programme (Elementary level):
To improve the teaching capacity of the elementary teachers, under NISHTHA an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, 2 phases of training programmes were conducted in all the Districts A State Resource Group consisting Key Resource Persons and State Resource Persons were trained by the NCERT are the trainers of the training. The training completed in five phases and the expected outcome is improvement in learning outcome in the classroom transaction, foster critical thinking amongst students and improvement in pedagogical skills.
NISHTHA training for State Resource Group:
NISHTHA training program commenced in the district/block level on 28th January 2020 after completing the training of State Resource Group members from 17th -21st December 2019 at Dimapur conducted by the National Resource Group members.
The total target of elementary teachers to be trained under NISHTHA training as per UDISE 2018-19 was 16872 Elementary Teachers and Head Teachers. The training programme was completed in five phases in March 2020.
Altogether there were 2622 teachers who could not attend the NISHTHA training programme out of the total target of 16872 teachers. The plan to cover the absentees in the 5th Phase could not happen due to COVID-19 lock down imposed through-out the country.
NISHTHA training programme was conducted jointly by School Education Department, SCERT and Samagra Shiksha Nagaland.
The total overall achievement of the state in the NISHTHA training programme is 84.45% against the target of 16872 elementary head teacher and teachers.
NISHTHA training programme received positive feedback from the school heads and teachers as it is based on Integrated Teacher Training Package, an activity-based training programme. Transformation in the perspective of teachers in the class room transaction is expected and would improve learning outcomes of the students.
