Reading is the foundation of learning which motivates students to read books independently, develop creativity, critical thinking, vocabulary and the ability to express both verbally and in writing. Unlike speaking, reading is a skill which does not come naturally to humans and needs to be learnt. It requires continuous practice, development and refinement. The Department of School Education and Literacy, Govt. of India launched a 100 Days Reading Campaign ‘Padhe Bharat’ from 1st January, 2022 to promote the habit of reading among children.
