2 Students from Govt Schools of Nagaland attend the Sakura Science High School Program (SSHP) in Japan under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland
The Sakura Science High School Program (SSHP) is Youth Exchange Program in Science. It is a prestigious initiative by the Japan Science and Technology Agency
(JST), supported in India through the Ministry of Education (MoE). The program aims to foster scientific curiosity, cultural exchange and international collaboration among exceptional high school students. As per the criteria set by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI), Samagra Shiksha Nagaland shortlisted meritorious students who passed out their HSLC from Government Schools and pursuing science stream in Government Schools. The MoE, GoI selected two students from Nagaland, Ms. Shethilu Medeo from Ruzhukhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima and Ms.Iris Zomawii Lushai
from Chumoukedima Government Higher Secondary School, Chumoukedima. Ms Gihukali Sema, PGT Chumoukedima Government Higher Secondary School,
Chumoukedima was also selected as their supervisor. The SSHP 2025 Japan commenced from 13th June till 21st June. This 7-day program was sponsored by the MoE, GoI and included visits to schools, universities and various technological and cultural sites in Japan. The students also participated in various activities and delivered brief presentations.
